Dr. Jackie Birnhak, a general dentist, is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dentistry. After her dental school education, Dr. Birnhak went on to complete a general practice residency at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She then associated with a private practice in Westford, Massachusetts before becoming a member of the Waban Dental Group in 1989. Dr. Birnhak has taken several continuing education courses in dental implantology and occlusion allowing her to offer patients additional treatment options. She also focuses on the use of esthetic materials to restore and enhance oral health.

Dr. Douglas S. Howie, a general dentist, graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He was inducted into the OKU Dental Honor Society emblematic of scholastic achievement. Upon completing a general practice residency at Yale New Haven Hospital he returned to the Newton area as head of the Newton Wellesley Hospital Dental Service. Dr. Howie has been in private practice since 1980 and a member of the Waban Dental Group since its inception. He has devoted a large measure of his continuing education to the study of occlusion and occlusion related disorders. Dr. Howie is presently on staff at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital and a guest lecturer for the dental residency program. His present focus is the use of composite and porcelain materials for optimal esthetic restorations of both posterior and anterior teeth.

Dr. Andrew Sonis is one of but a handful of dual-trained specialists board certified in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. He received his dental degree from Tufts University, his pediatric dental training at Children’s Hospital and Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and his orthodontic training at Boston University. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Dentistry, Current Opinion in Dentistry, and as a reviewer for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He has lectured nationally and has widely published in both these specialty areas. He currently maintains an active staff position at the Children’s Hospital and the Brigham and Woman’s Hospital where he is involved in resident training, research, and patient care. In addition, he holds the academic rank of Clinical Professor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is board certified in Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics, and Oral Medicine.

Dr. Sandra Zaragoza graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. In addition to being inducted into the OKU Dental Honor Society, she was also awarded a three-time merit scholarship for achievement. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Zaragoza received her pediatric training at Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She serves as a Clinical Instructor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and is presently on staff at Children’s Hospital Boston.
